THE COMPANION FOR PASSION

I never thought I would be one of those who arrives as people leaves, but here I am. Before we go on allow me to declare that this will be safe space for opinions, observations and when necessary a little bias will be thrown into the mix.

After the rain has fallen; birds will sing, children dance and play to the tune of growing flowers; up out of the sand they welcome the new world with open petals, displaying colour upon colour, of love and affection. The rivers flow with the energy and grace which the Lord have graced this world with, and the sun smiles as it welcomes another force of nature.

Perhaps the universe lines up things for us in lightening moments of clarity as encouragement, a gesture of unconditional love. But then it will also pull away and leave us to navigate on our own, to wrestle with the uncertainties and take leaps of faith into unchartered territory.

Up and down, round and round, we keep going, getting closer and closer to our destinies. We should always remember that life is a cycle of happiness, sadness, clarity and confusion.

Whenever you look at others sweep past you, no doubt, you feel bad but look at the bigger picture, you had all the time in the world to push yourself to greater heights and excel far better than you thought possible.

Peer pressure is the greatest divisor in determining whether you live how you want or to fulfill others expectations, which more often than not is to your detriment.

The life you live is yours, determined by decisions you make for your happiness. It begins and ends with you. If you decide to sleep it’s your time wasted, and if you decide to work it’s your dream coming to life.

King Solomon regarded as the wisest King to ever lived, put it clearly that there is time for everything. What’s more the decisions we make breed habits that give birth to principles we live by.

The principles become second nature to us and everything we do after that is a skill added to our arsenal of standards.

The greatest discovery of time is that people can change their future by merely changing their attitudes. A dreamer is a doer, the responsibility to make a dream come true hinges on the shoulders of a dreamer.

A dream is nothing until we first activate it, therefore a dreamer must take action. A desire not backed up by action is empty and cannot be satisfied.

The likelihood of setting positive goals is that they trigger approach and reward motivation. If you want to lose weight, for instance, don’t say ‘I don’t want to be fat.’

Saying this will give you zero motivation to draw on when you find yourself munching on junk food. Instead, focus on other benefits of hitting the gym.

Don’t find yourself in that space of self-criticism and guilt that you cannot train anymore. When that detour occurs, constantly remind yourself that your goals matter to you.

Train your mind and you might find yourself getting all your goals through to December.

These and many other issues have kind of set the way for more topics to write on but these have certainly opened the eyes and ears of yours truly to the kind of situation we face, not only as humans but as blessed creatures, so to speak.

Day in and out we are faced with adversity but we are given quotes and formulae to face our minds and break barriers to better face our challenges, so we share our experiences and relay the knowledge to the upcoming generations.

There are simple antidotes to complacency, gratitude is one of them. Every morning we wake up and (can) take a few moments to appreciate all the goodness in our lives, taking time to consciously contact the High Power could also be another antidote, the Lord is always available to help us; all we need to do is to simply open the door.

Sharing hope is perhaps the most powerful of the antidotes as it helps at least “two” people. Seeking God is like turning on a hydrant.

Until we pursue Him, Millions of gallons of water are for us to quench our thirst.
James said, “you have not because you ask not.”

Jesus said, “if we keep asking, seeking, and knocking we will receive, find and the door will be opened.”

At times we tend to be too hard on ourselves and neglect to look at things objectively. As I write this, I am by no means trying to promote a reckless situation that just goes through life by simply smiling and laughing at negative moments.

I am trying to promote an attitude that has feels and reacts, cry, be anxious, be nervous but quickly return to your feel and apply the relevant solution to the situation.

Let us not aspire to be like somebody else instead, we should aspire to be better than we were the day before. I may be naïve here, but the Lord will not judge us according to how many friends we have outdone throughout our lifetime.
